byfirstlight's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She doesn't always love the camera So a few people have requested pictures of Isabella in mid toe-suck. And I'm trying! I really am! She just isn't cooperating. No matter how stealthy I try to be, she catches me with that camera and puts down her foot just in time for the flash. Darn it. And it's so cute. She grabs that foot (usually the left one), sticks her big toe right into her mouth, and sucks it like a thumb. I love it. She really goes to town on that thing, let me tell you. It looks like she's actually getting something out of it. Ew. I hope not. Toe fluid. Gross. They've even tried capturing it on film at the daycare, and she thwarts their efforts every time as well. The little smartypants. She is too funny. She started creeping yesterday! She can't sit up yet, but she can creep. Is that normal? We laid her on her tummy on the living room floor (on a blanket, of course), and she just started scooting towards the Christmas tree. She made it about three feet, and then she decided to be angry. It was so much fun to watch. Adam and I were flipping out, much like any parent does when baby does something cool for the first time. I can't wait to get home tonight so we can play. Now that she likes her toys she's so much more fun. She has a different favorite every day. Yesterday it was her little teddy bear that says the "now I lay me down to sleep" prayer in a child's voice (we bought it at Walmart. he's so cute. we also bought another one that's a pink bunny). She held that little bear all day, just about. The day before that, it was her plush tweety that rattles, and before that it was one of those multicolored teething ring things. And of course, she always loves to look at herself in the mirror. I just installed a crib mirror this morning. She hasn't seen it yet, but she will when she wakes up from her nap tonight. I'm pretty sure she'll love it. I finally got her First Christmas Ornament! I went to a different Hallmark store on Sunday, and this one had a huge selection of commemorative ornaments. It's a little ceramic book with a spot for a picture of her to go in the cover, and then the pages of the book are real pages where you're supposed to write in all the different things she did on her first christmas. I love it. It's so tiny (2" x 3 1/2" x 1/4"), but so cute. I love the fact that it has room for not only her picture, but for memories as well! So, yay! for Hallmark. I'd show a picture of it, but the hallmark website doesn't have one. Darn it. As of this very minute it's 4:20. Hee. That's always amused me. I have a very juvenile sense of humor. I just can't help myself. Well, I guess I should go do some more work. Or maybe I'll put an entry in my regular diary. I dunno. Whatever. 4:05 p.m. - 12.11.02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
