byfirstlight's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The best baby a mommy could ask for I just love my little monkey. She cheers me up like nothing else. So in my last entry, I was freaking out because she seems to love Lori so much. It's okay. I'm all right with it. Because I know she loves mommy best. Lori was holding her when I came to pick her up this afternoon, and she was so happy to see me. It rocked. I felt special. It was funny. I was holding one of the other babies in the daycare, Amiyah (almost a year old - she's so cute), and Isabella got the most confused look on her face. Kinda like, "what's my mommy doing holding YOU?!" So Lori and I traded, and Amiyah got upset. Hah. So yes, I feel loved now. Everyone wanted me to hold them. Yes, I realize 2 babies hardly qualifies as everyone. Shut up. Let me feel special. And finally, FINALLY. Isabella is teething. We thought she was a long time ago. Even the doctor thought she was starting. Well, she wasn't. Now she is, and I don't even need to ask anyone. I can feel the little bumpies on her gums, and they just happen to be right where she wants to chew. That child can really chomp a finger, let me tell you. It borders on painful! It's so cute though, how she immediately grabs a finger of mine to gnaw on when I'm holding her. I love it. I'm going through handsoap like crazy now, but that's okay. It's worth it to wash my hands ten million times a day so my monkey can chew on me like a doggie bone. It's cool. I still haven't gone Christmas shopping. I'm avoiding it like the plague. I did finally use a $40 Walmart giftcard yesterday, though. I bought her freaking expensive formula (*grumble grumble*), and three little outfits. It came to about $60, but that's okay. She needed a few new things to wear. I am definitely going to need to get her an exersaucer for Christmas. She just loves them. She has the cutest one at daycare, and they say she always wants to be in it. And that's cool. Because for one thing, it helps her back muscles, so that means she'll be able to sit up on her own sooner. And another thing, it helps her motor skills, because of all the toys attached to it. Yesterday Adam's mom brought an exersaucer to the Curves Facility for Isabella to play in. *sigh* The thing had been in her dusty old basement for a year. Uncovered. I spent almost an hour cleaning the thing with Bleach spray, then with Windex, and finally with water to wash off the chemicals. And still I didn't really want her in it, because I couldn't clean the cloth seat. But, I relented because she started being terribly cranky once she saw it. After I put her in it, she was happy as a clam. Adam's mom told me we could keep it, but I politely declined (it's a two years old and kinda beat up. Thanks, but no thanks. Isabella gets her OWN exersaucer). Of course she persisted. Finally I told her I had already ordered one from Walmart (I haven't - yet), and that she should keep it at her house for when we come over. Know what she said? She wanted to buy Isabella a new one. Can you believe that? Send the hand-me-downs to me so grandma has all the new stuff? I don't think so. I told her she could still buy a new one if she wanted, but I didn't want a used one at hom. So nyah. Luckily, we were so busy that she didn't persist after that. Isabella has her four month checkup one day this week. I'm so excited, even though she has to get four more shots (noooooo!). I just love showing her off to people, and her doctor just loves her. So, yeah. Well, I'm hungry. I'm off to scrounge for food. 6:55 p.m. - 12.09.02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
