byfirstlight's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why'd you have to listen to Avril Lavigne?! It's just my luck that the only song that will stop Isabella from crying when she's really REALLY upset is Complicated by Avril Lavigne. I am not an Avril Lavigne fan. She's just too...young, I guess. Her stuff is kinda cutesy, but it just doesn't appeal to me in any serious way. I admit, I liked Complicated the first ten thousand times I heard it, but that song was played sooo much that five thousand of those were all in the course of about a week. I found myself extremely sick of the song rather quickly. Isabella, however, has decided she loves it. I guess it's true that babies really can hear while in the womb. Apparently, they can hear better than I thought. So, when she cries, I have to open up winamp and play Complicated for her. And I have to sing it as well. Ugh. At least it's an easy song to sing. And I will admit, I do love how it calms her so quickly. It's funny. She likes normal music. She also likes Red Hot Chili Peppers ('By The Way' especially), Dashboard Confessional, System of a Down, and of course Blink 182 (and Boxcar Racer). That's cool, though. Instead of singing stuff like Rock a Bye Baby (which is a horrible song anyway), I get to sing cool stuff. Hee. And don't get me wrong. She still listens to all that baby crap, too. At night she's got a lullabye CD that plays continuously, and during the day she listens to Disney and Silly Songs, and stuff like that. So she'll be a well-rounded baby in the music department. She's such a cutie. Today she has been in such a good mood. She's been cooing up a storm. She imitates me too. I'll make a noise like ooooooh, or aaaaaaaah, and she'll look at me intently, strain a little, and then produce the same sound. I love it! She's so smart (I realize all babies her age do this, but shut up. I like to think I have the smartest baby in the world). Oh, and Mia is at home having her baby right now!! How exciting! I know it will probably be a few days before we get any stats or pictures or anything, but I can't wait!
