byfirstlight's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sleepy Baby Isabella is finally starting to nap! Yay! I think I've figured it out. Okay, my mom figured it out. Isabella likes to sleep on her stomach. Now, I realize that the doctors say not to let a baby sleep on their stomach, because stomach sleeping might be the cause of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), but I disagree. For one thing, they cannot confirm that. It's just a theory at this point. And up until about ten years ago, they used to say the opposite. They used to tell parents TO put their babies on their stomachs to sleep, and NOT on their backs. So which do you believe? Neither. Do whatever feels right for you and your baby. Isabella is almost three months old. If she wants to sleep on her stomach, I'm going to let her. I check on her constantly, and besides. Her bed is not full of fluffy pillows or stuffed animals, so she isn't going to suffocate or anything. All I know is this. In the three days that we've been putting her on her stomach, she's gotten more sleep than ever, and she's been in a MUCH better mood.
